- AMNIOCENTESIS– Sampling of amniotic fluid.
- ADNEXA– Ovary and Fallopian tube.
- ADNEXECTOMY– Excision of the ovary and Fallopian tube.
- ADNEXITIS– Inflammation of the ovary and Fallopian tube.
- CERCLAGE– Encircling the uterine cervix with a round suture to prevent abortion in case of premature delivery threat.
- CERVICOMETRY– Measuring of the actual cervix length with the use of vaginal ultra-sound.
- CTG-CARDIOTOCOGRAPHY– Monitoring of cardiac functions of the foetus and uterine functions in the last trimester of pregnancy.
- CYTOLOGICAL ANALYSIS– Cell analysis.
- ENDOMETRIOSIS– Occurrence of uterine mucous membrane/endometrium/ in abnormal location.
- GRAVIDITY– Pregnancy.
- HC– Hormonal contraception.
- HEMATOLOGICAL ANALYSIS– Blood analysis.
- HISTOLOGICAL ANALYSIS– Tissue analysis.
- HRT– Hormone replacement therapy (in menopause).
- HYSTERECTOMY– Excision of the uterus.
- HYSTEROSCOPY (HSC)– Examination of the uterine cavity by eyesight through an optic telescope (hysteroscope).
- INFERTILITY– Inability to carry the foetus to term (i.e. for the full period of pregnancy).
- INCONTINENCE– Inability to control urination.
- CLIMACTERIUM– Menopause (in females), the state in which the function of ovaries decreases, causing cessation of the menstruation cycle.
- COLPITIS– Inflammation of vagina (caused by fungi, bacteria, etc.)
- CONTINENCE– Ability to control body functions, e.g. urination.
- CORDOCENTESIS– Collection of blood sample from umbilical cord of the foetus in uterus.
- MAMMOGRAPHY– X-ray mammary gland/ breast imaging.
- METRITIS– Inflammation of the uterus.
- METRORRHAGIA– Abnormal uterine bleeding.
- MICROBIOLOGICAL ANALYSIS– Examination of the occurrence and sensitivity of bacteria, moulds, etc.
- PLACENTA– Foetal matrix.
- PRENATAL– Concerning a period before birth.
- STD– Sexually transmitted diseases.
- STERILITY– Infertility. Inability to conceive.
- TRIMESTER– A period of three months related to development of the foetus.
